Our Kombucha Artisan™, Jason, began brewing kombucha in Phoenix, Arizona way back in 2007.  A friend gave him a SCOBY (the same one we use today) and he started brewing kombucha for his personal use for the next several years.  Jason moved to the Big Island in 2010 with not much more than the clothes on his back and his kombucha SCOBY.  He worked and lived on an organic farm, giving his brew to the people on the farm. One day the owner suggested that he bring kombucha to the Hawi farmers market, where they would sell the aquaponic greens that they grew.  Market goers really enjoyed Jason's kombucha and from there it grew.

A few months later, Jason approached Island Naturals in Kona and after some smooth talking got an account.  At the time, his was the only local kombucha at a retail store, paving the way for others to follow.  Kona Kombucha™ grew slowly over several years, acquiring accounts at a variety of locations, while at the same time ensuring the highest quality product.

Kona Kombucha™ always has and always will use the highest quality organic and local ingredients to produce the best tasting (we think so) kombucha on the market today!
